Last week Brad and I decided we would put Braden in Pre-K. Braden and I went to the school last Wednesday and got him all signed up. He will go Mon-Fri from 11:45 to 2:45. We were able to meet Mrs. Batla, his teacher that afternoon. We spent the rest of the week getting his school supplies and his uniforms together. He was so excited to go and get his things for school. Everywhere we went he would tell people "I'm going to Poynter and I'm in 1st grade!" He was so proud that he was getting to go to school. We have been working with him on what grade he really is in. ;) We had meet the teacher on Friday afternoon and while we were getting ready I asked him if he remembered his teachers name? He didn't even look up, just replied with "Nope!" I told him "it's Mrs. Batla" and as serious as he can be he looked up at me and says "Ok...Yeah, I'll just call her Emily!" For those of you wondering, no her name is not Emily Batla, it's Jessica Batla. We have no clue where Emily cam from.
Well over the weekend I have shed my fair share of tears, and questioned the decision to put him in a 5 day a week program. I think most of it is really just the fact that my baby boy is growing up so fast. Well today was his first day of school!! Brad had to work, of course, so his mom went with me to take Braden. I was very good, he got all ready and I took lots of pics for Daddy to see when he gets home in the morning. We got to the school and we got to walk him to his classroom and help him find his chair. We got him all situated and said our goodbyes. I couldn't wait to pick him up and hear all about his day.
He had a great day! He made it very clear that he stayed on Orange ALL DAY and DID NOT have to change his color like one little boy did. His first comment was "Man, it's wild in there!" I thought he was talking about the pick up line, because it was "Wild" outside. He meant in his classroom, apparently one little boy screamed all day because he didn't want to put his shoes on. He talked about how they got to walk around the school and see everything, but the play ground because it was to wet out. He even got to draw a self portrait of himself on the first day of Pre-K. I can't wait to see how tomorrow goes, and so far I'm doing great and not crying!!
Love,
Brad, Morgan, Braden and Kinsley
